From time to time, a guitar finds its way back to my workshop, or I create a new instrument outside of regular commissions that I offer for sale on this page.
Angela Waltner No. 74, 2012 – Spruce / Flamed Maple, Left-Handed Model
Description
Left-handed model
Scale length: 65 cm
Woods: spruce / flamed maple
Tuning machines: Alessi, hand-engraved
Case: old handcrafted Meinel case; another model can of course be provided upon request
This instrument comes from the estate of its original owner. It is in good, well-maintained condition with visible signs of play. A top crack below the bass-side bridge wing was professionally glued by me, as well as a formerly open joint at the neck heel. The top also shows a small mark behind the bridge caused by a slipped string.
This guitar is a precursor of the KONZERT model, featuring an asymmetrical seven-fan bracing pattern along with a transverse bar below the bridge.
The spruce top has outstanding tonal qualities. It is crafted from one of the last pieces of a spruce trunk with which I built, over many years, instruments that developed a distinctive and characteristic sound.
The guitar has been tonally adjusted to my current standards. Its sound is powerful and rounded, with a pleasant responsiveness of the strings under the fingers.
