Ecological Aspects

Ecological Aspects

We humans are part of nature and vitally connected to it. In order to preserve the beauty and abundance of life that surrounds us for future generations, the responsible use of resources is part of my corporate philosophy.

This begins with the production of a high-quality, long-life product in a small quantity and with high emotional connection.

My tonewoods come from responsible sources, often from old stocks. I almost exclusively use natural materials that have been proven for centuries, such as hide glue, pumice and shellac. My working methods are largely traditional and functional with a high proportion of manual work.

My service providers are selected according to ethical and ecological criteria. I source green electricity from a local supplier. My cooperative bank supports ecological and social projects and my web hosting is securely hosted on German servers using renewable energy. I mainly use recycled material for shipping.
But ecology goes beyond this in my understanding. It touches the deepest layers of human existence and refers to the integrity of the human being within, which is threatened by many external influences in our time.

It fills me with gratitude that musicians give my guitars a soul. They are evidently capable of opening up new inner sound spaces with the generous invitation to explore them.

To me, an existential component of sound is the key to this. By this I mean a sound that emerges from the depths of the body, a tidy overtone spectrum that clears the mind and lets one breathe, a subtle warmth that is life giving and opens up sources of strength.

It would be powerful if my guitars could awaken a creative force that opposes everything destructive in the world.
